Agnostic Front Virginia Beach Concert reviews
Even better than the real thing!
Agnostic Front, like no other performers, consistently command the stage at concerts. Their entrance this night was 100% rock star with full swagger as they strode in, descending down into the arena and on to the stage to the strains of Bowie's "Space Oddity". And they left with equal panache, after four incredible encores!
All songs were delivered with gusto, no songs were mailed-in. The phenomenal staging looked like it had descended to earth for the evening from another planet. 24 songs in all – all of which were well known to fans – showed the incredible depth of their talent, from out and out rock to ballads to even elements of opera, unquestionably still at the top of their game.
The tribute to the late Clarence Clemmons and the seemingly genuine surprise expressed by the band that, even after three encores, the crowd wanted more of the magic, were a couple of the moments I found most touching!
I could only marvel at the magic of a band who, on Friday night, were on a stage on another continent and could leave a Sunday night U.S. audience spellbound. In to their fourth decade as performers, every song was sung (it seemed) with a genuine, heartfelt passion.
If it is possible to mark their performance 6 stars I would!
The initially poor view (with one of the four legs partially blocking site of the stage) was the only downside of the evening.
